Software Required

(if the download links no longer work you can search on Google for other places to DL)

Hardware:

  • Computer, preferably a desktop with high processing power. Laptops can work too depending on the specs. My recommendations are 2ghz dual core & 4 gigs ram, but you may be able to get by on lower specs, just don't expect to run a lot of other background programs!
  • Internet with at least a 1.5mb upload. Do a Speed Test Here.

Usage Guide for Virtual Audio Cables

This is a usage guide for Virtual Audio Cables and will go over settings and various sound set-ups for broadcasting.

Audio Repeaters & Audio Cables come together as a software mixer that allows you to combine your voice & your game audio (and other audio sources such as your PC sounds/music and Skype conversations), all without any external hardware. However, the possible disadvantages include slight sound delay (though relatively unnoticeable unless you're a super audiophile), and not as great of a sound quality like a hardware mixer.

In general software mixers are fine for broadcasting-- I would say this would the be the last thing you would upgrade in your whole broadcasting set-up. Video quality & internet bandwidth are more worthwhile to improve first on a live broadcast. In any case, let's move on to settings up your virtual audio cables with various examples of game set-ups.

Bear with me - Site Updates PDF Print E-mail

Still updating the website....... I'm posting up old game reviews from the other site (I transitioned from a basic webpage to a new, more integrated content management system), but I wrote up a PC broadcasting guide for those of you interested in starting your own gaming streams. I need to polish it up with better screenshots and I'll post it under the "Tutorial Guides" under the Navigation. I will move on to writing a console broadcasting guide as well, but that may take some time to write up as I want to be very detailed and provide lots of pictures and diagrams. I can't tell you how frustrated I was with the lack of good documentation out there when it came to capture cards and how to set them up!

You should see some more updates within the next week or two.

Also if you can spare 20 seconds or so, answer the poll on the front page (right side), as I know I'm not the best with broadcast schedules. I would like to know how people feel on broadcast duration and frequency. I can't broadcast long AND broadcast frequently, it's more of a one or the other for me. So let me know what you think and I will do my best to be on a more regular broadcasting schedule. Right now it's more like, broadcast for 2 days in a row for about 5 hours each and then take a break for 3 weeks.... haha. I know that's terrible but I get so busy and unmotivated to play games. This month is pretty hectic for me, I'm putting myself through a lot of habit / lifestyle changes so that I will be more productive with my time.

I also got an update from Monday that he's working on NOC Chapter 3! So there will be some comic pages uploaded soon.

So there you go, vote and come back next week! :)

Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G PDF Print E-mail

Okay! So where have I been for the last few weeks? Gone of course. But I've been playing Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G! (Long name, I know). If you support the MH series, you should buy the UMD from Japan and read up on how to apply the English patch since it's not coming to the U.S., shame isn't it? I've taken a lot of ingame screen shots, they're not really of the epic sort, I don't take good shots and I always leave up the hub which kind of ruins the view but at least you'll see a lot of dead animals. Wooo.
